Baskonia is finalizing a deal with forward DeShaun Thomas according to Eurohoops sources. Thomas is becoming a free agent after reaching an agreement with Panathinaikos for the termination of the three-year contract he signed with the Greek powerhouse in 2018.

Thomas, 28, averaged a career-high 13.9 points plus 4.4 rebounds in 29:55 minutes over 28 games of the 2019-2020 EuroLeague before the cancelation of the season. He was the top scorer of the “Greens” in the competition.

By acquiring Thomas, Baskonia will bring the American player back to the Spanish ACB League for the first time since his 2014-2015 stint with Barcelona.

Baskonia, that will compete in the ACB Final vs. Barcelona Tuesday (30/6) has been in advanced negotiations with CSKA Moscow for the buyout of forward Tornike Shengelia.
