Anadolu Efes beat Tofas Bursa 90 – 84 to begin the 2022 edition of the Gloria Cup preseason tournament that is held annually in Istanbul.
Rodrigue Beaubois led Efes‘ scorers with 18 points while Filip Petrusev added 15 points. Chris Singleton dropped 13 points, Adrien Moerman had 11 points plus eight rebounds and Bryant Dunston scored 11 as well for the reigning EuroLeague champions.
For Tofas, Kasey Shepherd scored a game-high 22 points and dished out five assists. Tomislav Zubcic had 15 points and Muhsin Yasar scored 13 points.
Tofas was leading 72 – 61 at the end of the third period but Efes reacted to completely turn the game around, finish on a high note and get the victory.
In Cyprus and the OPAP Basketball Tournament, CSKA Moscow defeated Zenit St. Petersburg 75 – 64 to take a bit of a payback for the loss in the Kondrashin and Belov Cup final.
Will Clyburn delivered 18 points and seven rebounds while Joel Bolomboy scored 10 for CSKA. Jordan Loyd and Mindaugas Kuzminskas scored 10 apiece for Zenit.
