Anadolu Efes guard/forward Krunoslav Simon will remain sidelined for the upcoming 2022 EuroLeague Final Four due to a knee injury.

“My knee is f-cked up”, Simon told Eurohoops’ Antonis Stroggylakis on-site, during Wednesday’s media availability at the Stark Arena.

Simon, 36, participated in two playoff contests against Olimpia Milano, both on the road, averaging limited time on the court. He remained sidelined for the remainder of the series.

The experienced Croatian has posted averages of 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 21:10 minutes on the court across 27 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games this season.

Efes will lack the services of Simon, though another veteran, Bryant Dunston, is well-prepared for the big game on Thursday.

“It will be a very great match, the games in the Final Four are always special and there is no favourite”, Dunston told Eurohoops’ Stefanos Tatsios. “We will try to take that step and advance to the final because we really want the trophy “.

Dunston, a familiar face to Olympiacos, admitted that working with Coach of The Year Georgios Bartzokas was the best experience of his career. “First of all, congratulations on the award he won, he deserved it. He is one of the best coaches in Europe and the best I have had in my career. He is excellent at his job and this [award] proves it”.
