While he’s expected to become a free agent in the NBA, following his pending release by the Phoenix Suns after Kevin Durant’s trade, Vasilije Micic is back in Europe and more specifically in Athens, Greece.
The Serbian guard posted on his Instagram Stories that he’s traveling to Athens, but according to Eurohoops sources, this flight is for personal reasons, not related to basketball.
At the moment, several European powerhouses are on the former EuroLeague MVP and back-to-back EuroLeague champion, with Anadolu Efes.
Among them, Hapoel Tel Aviv, which confirmed the rumors of their interest in Vasilije Micic, and Fenerbahce, which is close to bringing him back to Turkiye, as reported by Chema de Lucas at the beginning of June.
In the past two years, Vasilije Micic has spent time in the NBA between the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Charlotte Hornets, and ultimately the Phoenix Suns.
Struggling to find playing time and rhythm in the NBA, he also spent time with the Serbian national team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, winning the bronze medal.
