Dubai has been impressive so far, but Baskonia had the need to finally win and did exactly that.
The home side prevailed 92-85 and remains at the bottom of the standings, but with a 1-6 record.
It was the first EuroLeague win for the season for Baskonia under new coach Paolo Galbiati, and at least it’s a moral boost.
Newcomer Kobi Simmons with 16 points and five assists was the x-factor, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot was once again the top scorer with 25 points, and still Hamidou Diallo was the key with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Dubai entered the last quarter leading 64-60; however, Baskonia dominated the next six minutes with a partial score of 18-4, getting a solid 78-68 lead.
Filip Petrusev, with 22 points and seven rebounds, was the top scorer of the losing side, which dropped to 3-4.
