Spencer Dinwiddie’s EuroLeague debut was unspectacular.
Bayern won, but he contributed just six points, on one made shot and four free throws.
However, Bayern’s coach Gordon Herbert is hopeful that this will change soon.
“I knew it was going to be difficult; it’s a different game, and he hasn’t practiced. I think it’s going to transition fast, that’s my feeling. He has a great game understanding, he is a smart kid, and he makes some really good passes. So I think it’s going to be a really good fit”, said Gordon, who led the German national team to the FIBA World Cup crown and has been part of the coaching staff of the Nets in the 2019-20 season, as a consultant.
Known for his soft way of speaking and sometimes dry tone of humor, Gordon added, “Obviously, we are going to find the right fit. We have two practices on Saturday and Sunday. In the NBA, they don’t practice, so this is going to be something different for him, but he needs to practice”.
The bottom line for the Canadien coach is simple: “So we are excited to have him; he is fitting really well in the locker room, it’s easy”.
