Isaiah Canaan has officially parted ways with Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet. The Belgrade outfit announced the decision on Thursday, following the expiration of his two-year contract.
The Mississippi native and former Murray State standout originally joined the Serbian powerhouse in the summer of 2024 and went on to win the Radivoj Korac Cup.
Over his two seasons with the red and whites, the veteran defender appeared in 73 games and contributed a total of 703 points.

However, Canaan’s second year with Zvezda was significantly impacted when he suffered a severe anterior cruciate ligament injury during a preseason game in September. Due to this massive physical setback, Canaan was forced onto the sidelines for the entirety of the 2025–26 EuroLeague campaign. The veteran guard remained at a career total of 139 games in Europe’s premier club competition.
Before arriving in the Serbian capital, the explosive guard enjoyed a successful stint between 2022 and 2024 with another iconic red-and-white club, Olympiacos. During his two years in Greece, he helped the team secure three domestic titles, including the Basket League championship in 2023.
This European success was built upon a substantial foundation laid in the United States, where Canaan previously logged 238 total NBA appearances. His journey between 2013 and 2019 included stints with the Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Milwaukee Bucks.
His future situation now remains unclear as he enters the market to carefully consider his next options as a free agent.
