The 31-year-old veteran forward brings an elite winning pedigree to his new squad. The Istanbul native is fresh off winning the domestic championship with Fener, where he helped his former team defeat his new club in the Finals of the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi Playoffs 2026.
Over his decorated career, which started professionally in 2011, the former Nike International Junior Tournament Most Valuable Player has also worn the jerseys of Anadolu Efes, Pinar Karsıyaka, Sakarya, IBB, and Eskisehir. His impressive resume features 85 career games in the EuroLeague, highlighted by a championship trophy lifted in 2025, and six BSL titles.
An accomplished fixture on the international stage, Birsen has been a staple of the senior national team of Turkiye for nearly a decade and made his way to the FIBA World Cup 2019. At the junior level, he captured gold medals in the FIBA U20 European Championship 2014 and FIBA U18 European Championship 2013, alongside bronze in the FIBA U20 European Championship 2015 and FIBA U16 European Championship 2010.
Known for his high efficiency in small-ball lineups and his unique ability to defend multiple positions on the court, his arrival significantly strengthens the team’s core domestic rotation.
