Sylvain Francisco has signed a record deal with ASVEL, and the club intends to honour it, as was confirmed today, per Eurohoops sources.
The complicated financial situation of ASVEL’s budget and the already reported interest of Panathinaikos in the player are well known and add fuel to the fire of speculation.
However, the French club envisions Francisco as the leader of their new project and considers him a priority.
Of course, the interest of Panathinaikos is also undeniable; however, only if ASVEL decides to cut loose the player, Francisco may end up in Greece.
The buyout to Zalgiris is already paid by ASVEL, and everything is done properly for the player to compete in France.
Meanwhile, Panathinaikos is also examining other options, either from Europe, in cases like Zalgiris Kaunas’ Nigel Williams-Goss, as it was first reported by Greek media “Sportal.gr”, or from the US market.
