Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv’s Tomas Satoransky has issued a reassuring update after a frightening fall overshadowed Friday’s action across Round 9 of the 2026–27 EuroLeague Regular Season.
During the third quarter of a meeting between the Israeli side and Dubai at Coca-Cola Arena, the 35-year-old Czech veteran had to be carried off on a stretcher, following an airborne collision while contesting a rebound. He collided with Dubai players Dwayne Bacon and Filip Petrusev, as well as teammate Bruno Caboclo, before landing awkwardly on his back.
Medical personnel from both clubs rushed to the floor immediately. Satoransky initially showed signs of physical stiffening, but he remained conscious. Following an evaluation by the local medical staff, Hapoel’s head coach Dimitris Itoudis confirmed that the playmaker was awake and responsive.
Breaking his silence after the scare, the 35-year-old combo guard expressed deep gratitude for the swift response and the outpouring of concern. He extended special praise to Dubai, thanking their players and staff for their rapid assistance on the court. He also thanked his teammates and everyone at Hapoel for their support. While acknowledging it was a scary moment, the guard noted that he is already feeling much better. He hopes to return to action as soon as possible.

The injury halts a steady campaign for the floor general, who brought 404 games of NBA experience back to Europe in 2022. Across nine appearances this season, Satoransky has averaged 4.8 points, 3.9 assists, and 3.7 rebounds. His efforts helped build a 6–3 record for Hapoel. They now sit tied for third place, just one victory behind the leaders.
