Mike James has turned down the initial two-year offer Panathinaikos had extended to him, according to Eurohoops sources.

Few days ago, Panathinaikos brought on the table a bid for a two-year contract that would increase James’earnings in comparison to 2016/2017 but didn’t receive a positive answer. The main reason is that James is waiting to hear something interesting from the NBA and wants to exhaust his chances for a possible opportunity arriving from the best league in the planet.

James also has an offer from Olimpia Milano in his hands but he’s put the Italian team “on hold” for the aforementioned reason as well. The Italian club is so far the only other European team to have made an offer for the 27-year-old combo guard.

Considered one of the most “explosive” hoopers in Europe, James finished the season in EuroLeague averaging 13.1 points, 3 assists and 2.2 rebounds in almost 22 minutes per game. He won the Greek “Double” (Championship and Cup title) with PAO , notching 12 points per match in the finals vs arch-rival Olympiacos while finishing Game 5 with 11 points, a career-high 10 rebounds and six assists.
