Yesterday Pablo Laso admitted that Ognjen Kuzmic’s injury does look bad indeed and that was confirmed in today’s examinations.

Real Madrid announced that Serbian center Ognjen Kuzmic was diagnosed with a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament muscle of his left knee, Friday (20/10).

Kuzmic is thus expected to stay out of action for 6 to 9 months. He’ll miss the entirety of the EuroLeague season and in the best case scenario, will manage to return in time for the Spanish League playoffs.

He becomes the second Real Madrid player to sustain such a rough injury in a span of few months since 2017 EuroLeague MVP Sergio Llull also tore his ACL during a prep game of the Spanish national team, in early August.

Kuzmic suffered the injury in Thursday’s (19/10) EuroLeague clash between Real Madrid and CSKA Moscow. It was quite the Pyrrhic victory for the “Blancos” since Anthony Randolph also got injured by dislocating his right shoulder and will miss three weeks of action, as reported by Marca.
