As reported on Walla, Sonny Weems’ ban woes are far from being over despite his recent signing with Anadolu Efes.

The national doping agencies operating in each country are subject to the WADA and the International Olympic Committee, and are therefore committed to the 156-page detailed code of the organization, as the head of the Israeli Anti-Doping Board notes. That being said, Weems and any other player for that matter, is prohibited to participate in any game activities per the official rules. The EuroLeague is following the FIBA and WADA rules and in order for the signing to be completed, a FIBA letter of clearance must be included, like it happened in the case of Weems.

It remains to be seen whether the Israeli Committee will make another move on Weems’ ban.
