Panathinaikos OPAP might have announced the return of Marcus Denmon, but the player himself and his agent afterwards refused any contract obligations for the 2019-20 season. Following the development, president and CEO of the Greens, Manos Papadopoulos, shared his team’s side via press release.
“Marcus Denmon did not opt-out from his contract with Panathinaikos OPAP, therefore is a member of our team. If there are any disagreements or differences of opinion in such a clear issue, FIBA always provides the way towards a solution. It is the athlete’s undeniable right to seek his release from any team, provided of course that he negotiates and agrees with his team. Panathinaikos never before wanted to keep any athlete that does not want to be part of the team” he noted.
