Two teams stand alone now at the top spot of the standings in Italy. We are talking about Reggio Emilia (15-5) and Olimpia Armani Milano (15-5) that defeated Vanoli Cremona (14-7) and Bologna, respectively.

In what you might call as a “Northern Italy derby” Reggio Emilia hosted Vanoli Cremona. Coach Menetti’s players made their point right from the start, and went constantly one step ahead from their opponents, ultimately winning the game with a relative comfort. Cremona’s efforts to become dangerous were always pushed back, and now the team fell to the second place of the standings.

An impeccable offensive game by Olimpia Armani Milano, was more than enough to bring victory on the road against Bologna (7-14). With no less than seven (!) players scoring in double digits, the basketball that the team from Milan put on court was way too powerful to be stopped by the hosts of the match.

Mike Green was fiery, incredibly boosting Reyer Venezia (11-10) to make short work of Enel Brindisi (10-11) thanks to a powerful performance in the second half. Adrian Banks great game (29 points, 5 assists) was not enough for his team that fell really behind in the third quarter and was completely overwhelmed in the fourth.

Avellino (13-8) keeps being quite impressive, this time winning the reigning champs, Sassari (10-11), in Sardinia. A clutchy basket by Joe Ragland was the victory bringer, with the American player elevating his team at the fourth place in the standings.
