Mostly getting complicated in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season

By Johnny Askounis/ info@eurohoops.net

The never-say-die spirit heavily displayed at the top end of Basketball Champions League Regular Season Gameday 4 through the sixth week of action pushed back most plans for early clinching scenarios in groups A, B, E, and F.

The exception popping out was Baxi Manresa in Group E becoming the first team at 4-0 and later clinching the Round of 16 berth. One day after the two-game sweep of 2020-21 runner-up Pinar Karsiyaka completed Tuesday, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem avenged the recent loss to Arged BM Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski sending both sides to 1-3 and the Spanish team directly to the next round with two games left in the double-legged round-robin schedule.

Among the remaining big winners of the sixth week, Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari took down MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in the latest edition of Monday “Game of the Week”. With Lenovo Tenerife edging Prometey at home, the Italian side matched the Ukrainian champs at 1-3 and Tenerife caught up with the German side at 3-1 in Group A.

A commanding position for Tofas Bursa in Group F thanks to the second straight win over SIG Strasbourg. Filou Oostende routing Kalev/Cramo tied the French side’s 2-2.

In Group E, Galatasaray Nef got in the driver’s seat after holding off Igokea combined with the comeback win for PAOK mateco against ERA Nymburk.

Groups C, D, G, and H take over in the seventh week of the Regular Season to wrap up the Round 4 schedule.
