Week 1 of the 2022-23 Basketball Champions League Round of 16 saw important debuts and the first exciting encounters between the best teams of the competition. And, as expected, Week 2 followed with possibly even more upsets and surprises.

On Tuesday, AEK opened up the conversation by getting an important away victory against Galatasaray thanks to another monstrous double-double by Akil Mitchell. Then, both Unicaja Malaga and UCAM Murcia won solidly respectively against Limoges CSP and Surne Bilbao, while Rytas Vilnius got dragged by Marcus Foster against Bahcesehir.

On Wednesday, the reigning champions of Lenovo Tenerife dismantled Darussafaka on the road with Marcelinho Huertas surpassing the 400 assists in the competition. Hapoel Jerusalem won the first-ever Israeli derby against last year’s Final Four participant Hapoel Holon, while SIG Strasbourg imposed itself in the French derby at Dijon. Finally, Telekom Baskets Bonn extended its winning streak against BAXI Manresa.
