AEK Betsson ruled out RaiQuan Gray for a key game against Bertram Derthona Tortona on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old forward reported discomfort in his shoulder after Round 21 of the 2024-25 Stoiximan GBL Regular Season and a winning effort opposite Lavrio DHI on Saturday. He did not join his teammates in practice on Monday and was instead monitored by the medical staff. Uncleared until Tuesday, he did not travel with the rest of the team to Italy for the Gameday 5 fixture of the Basketball Champions League Round of 16.
Overcoming a slow start in his journey with the Queen from the top of the continental and domestic campaigns, the former Florida State standout has been on a roll over recent weeks, attracting the interest of other European teams seeking a late-season reinforcement to respective squads.
Gray has averaged 9.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest over ten appearances in the BCL, and 11.1 points per game in the GBL. Solid showings propelling the team coached by Dragan Sakota to 4-0 in Group I of the Round of 16 and a berth in the Quarterfinals of the Champions League, in addition to securing the third seed in the final standings of the Regular Season in Greece’s top flight.
In September, AEK emerged as his first overseas destination, following four appearances in the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs and Brooklyn Nets. Launching his professional career, he was drafted by the Nets with the 59th pick in 2021.
