After returning from a serious injury with Igokea m:tel, Borisa Simanic is officially set for a second season with the team based in Laktasi.

Starting offseason moves and heading to the 2025-26 edition of the Basketball Champions League, the Bosnian club announced a one-year contract extension with the 27-year-old Serbian forward on Thursday.

An injury during the FIBA World Cup 2023 required the removal of his kidney, forcing him to sit out the 2023-24 season. After completing rehab and preparing to get his career back on track, he joined Igokea in February 2024.

Back on the floor through the 2024-25 season, he produced 10.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, 0.8 assists, and 0.2 steals per contest over six appearances with Igokea in the BCL. He added 8.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.8 blocks, and 0.5 steals per game over 32 appearances in the AdmiralBet ABA League. Domestically, he was crowned champion in the MaxBet Liga BIH and the Mirza Delibasic Cup.

A youth product of Crvena Zvezda, the Ljubovija native played across all junior national teams of Serbia, with international displays including a silver medal in the U16 European Championship 2013. Simanic earned another silver in the World Cup 2023, his first participation in a major international tournament at the senior level.

At the club level, he suited up for Zvezda, FMP, and Mega before moving his talents from Belgrade to Spain and playing for Casademont Zaragoza for the 2022-23 installment of the Liga Endesa.
