One of the favorites has opened the second phase excellently, with five players finishing in double figures

Tenerife secured a victory in the first match of Group L in the Round of 16 in the Basketball Champions League, as they easily defeated Nymburk at home with a score of 104-80.

Aaron Doornekamp led his team with 18 points, Marcelinho Huertas contributed 17 points along with five assists, Jaime Fernandez scored 16, and Rokas Giedraitis added 15 points and ten rebounds.

For the visitors, Vojtech Hruban had 16 points, Ondrej Sehnal added 11 with seven assists, while Matej Svoboda scored ten.

We saw a close first half, with the visitors even going into the break with a one-point lead (50-49). However, they fell apart in the second half. Tenerife won the third quarter 30-13, and by the end, they easily maintained and increased the lead to secure a win at the start of the new phase.

In the next round, Tenerife will have another home game against Trieste, while Nymburk will host Gran Canaria in the Czech Republic.
