Galatasaray achieved a victory in the third match of Group I Round of 16 in the Basketball Champions League by defeating Hapoel Holon with a score of 86-81.
Errick McCollum was the top scorer with 18 points, hero James Palmer Jr. scored 14, Muhsin Yasar had 13, and John Meeks added 12 points. On the other side, Xavier Munford scored 21 points, one more than Derrick Walton Jr. and Adama Sanogo.
It was a very interesting match in Bulgaria, and it seemed that Hapoel could achieve their first win and a surprise in Turkey. The guests were in the lead for most of the match and entered the last ten minutes with a six-point advantage (62-68). However, the host managed to come back, equalizing at 78-78, and then Palmer stepped up.
He hit two three-pointers in consecutive plays, giving his team a six-point lead (84-78), after which Galatasaray maintained their advantage and secured the win.
Galatasaray is now at 2-1, and in the fourth round of Group I, they will play away against Le Mans. On the other hand, Hapoel Holon still has no wins and will seek their first in a match against Rytas.
