Rytas became the first participant of the Final Four tournament of the Basketball Champions League in Badalona, as they defeated Nymburk in Prague with a score of 70-69.
The decision in the Czech Republic came in the final seconds when the visiting team’s guard Ignas Sargiunas was fouled with six seconds left, with the home team leading (69-68).
Sargiunas missed the first free throw but made the next two, giving the visitors the lead (69-70). The home team had a chance to win, but Jaromir Bohacik missed a three-pointer, followed by Jaquan Lawrence’s unsuccessful attempt to correct his teammate’s miss.
n this way, Rytas celebrated in the quarterfinal series with a 2-0 victory and secured advancement.
Jerrick Harding was the top scorer with 17 points, Gytis Masiulis had 14, while Ignas Sargiunas added 11. On the other side, Tony Perkins was the best with 16 points, Ondrej Sehnal had 10, and Martin Kriz also scored 10.
In the Final Four semifinals, Rytas will play against the winner of the series between Tenerife and Galatasaray.
