Easy night for Besiktas against Oostende

Besiktas is still on the top of the Group D after beating Oostende on Day 9 of the Basketball Champions League.

Beskitas managed to beat Oostende at home 87-77 The Turkish team ended Oostende’s short winning streak as they had back-to-back wins before tonight’s game.

Everything was clicking for the hosts in the first half on both sides of the floor. They scored 49 points and kept Oostende at only 33 points in the first half.

After the halftime break, Oostende made a 12-0 run at the start of the third quarter. That was their way to stay alive, but they fall shot as Beskitas had the right answers. The Turks made their 7-0 run to get some distance again and never looking back.

The Key: The home team was able to catch fire early in the game leaving no room for an upset. It was a shooting clinic for Besiktas in the first half scoring 49 points. That gave them not just lead, but a confidence as well.

The Star: Sertac Sanli led the winner with 18 points and 7 rebounds. He also had a help from D.J. Strawberry who recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards.

Not enough: Vincent Kesteloot had a game-high with 19 points, but that didn’t cut it for Oostende tonight.

With this win, Besiktas remained on the top of the standings in Group D with a 7-2 record and Oostende fall to a 4-5.
