On Thursday, the first eight matches were played in groups A, B, C, and D, after which the situation in these groups became much clearer.
Now it was time for the teams from groups E, F, G, and H to complete the fifth round. After tonight’s results, we know more participants for the next phase of the qualifiers.
Group E
Croatia recorded a victory in Cyprus with a 73-point difference, winning 123-50.
Mario Hezonja crowned a brilliant performance with a triple-double of 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists. Ivica Zubac was more efficient with 24 points and 11 rebounds, as well as Dario Šarić with 21 points and 10 rebounds. For Cyprus, Stefanos Tigkas scored 10 points.
In another group match, Germany survived Yam Madar and defeated Israel 92-85.
Dennis Schroder led the world and European champions with 20 points and nine assists, while Yam Madar on the other side scored 31 points.
Group F
Poland achieved a significant and very convincing victory in Austria, defeating the hosts 123-77.
Even eight players in the Polish team scored in double figures, with Lukasz Kolenda being the most efficient with 23 points and six assists. For Austria, Nico Zeleznik scored 14 points.
Latvia, in a thriller and after a comeback in the final moments, secured an away victory against the Netherlands with a score of 72-69.
Rihards Lomazs and Arturs Zagars each scored 21 points, while for the Netherlands, Keye Van Der Vuurst had 23 points.
Group G
Finland secured an important victory on their home court, defeating Hungary 85-77.
Lauri Markkanen was, as usual, the best with 21 points, Edon Maxhuni scored 20, while Gyorgy Goloman added 18 for Hungary.
Group H
Estonia achieved a convincing victory on their home court, defeating Slovenia 93-62.
Stefan Vaaks scored 20 points and provided seven assists, while Maik Kotsar was close to a triple-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists.
For Slovenia, who played without Luka Doncic, the only player scoring in double digits was Gregor Horvat with 11 points.
Sweden defeated the Czech Republic 87-76 on their home court.
Pelle Larsson scored 19 points, while Bobi Klintman added 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. On the other side, Ondrej Sehnal scored 20 points.
