Despite missing Howard Sant-Ross, Panathinaikos OPAP comfortably got in the driver’s seat of the Basket League Playoffs Finals

Panathinaikos OPAP made short work of Lavrio Megabolt to secure the 100-72 victory and claim the lead, 1-0, in the Greek League Playoffs Finals.

Giorgos Papagiannis and Konstantinos Mitoglou shared the team-high 14 points in Thursday’s one-sided affair. Ioannis Papapetrou and Aaron White finished Game 1 of the best-of-five series with 13 points each. Howard Sant-Ross was a last-minute scratch.

The team led by Christos Serelis suffered a 15-0 run to start the game was held to eight points in the first quarter. Glenn Cosey registered a game-high 15 points as his side trailed the entire match.

Basket League Finals Game 2 will be held at the same venue on Saturday.
