AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan suffered a home defeat on Saturday to Sidigas Avellino, but that wasn’t the case in the other three openers of the Legabasket Quarterfinals best-of-five series. The home teams secured the “W” in the other weekend Playoffs contests including Banco di Sardegna Sassari’s 89-73 victory against Happy Casa Brindisi in the other game played on Saturday.

Umana Reyer Venezia fell behind 19-5 in the start of Game 1 versus Dolomiti Energia Trento, but stormed back behind effective defense for the 67-57 win. MarQuez Haynes with 14 points and Gasper Vidmar with 13 were the only players in double-digits, but proved enough. Devyn Marble had 18 points for the visiting team.

Vanoli Cremona also went up 1-0 by defeating Alma Trieste, 82-75. Andrew Crawford poured a game-high 21 points, Travis Diener added 18 points and Wesley Saunders 14. Mangok Mathiang also helped out with an impressive 11-point, 18-rebound double-double. Zoran Dragic scored a team-high 16 points for the losing side.
