Mike D’Antoni and Ime Udoka are finalizing deals with the Brooklyn Nets to work under newly-appointed head coach Steve Nash, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

From former teammate at the Phoenix Suns, Amar’e Stoudemire, reported to join his staff, Nash gets another assistant in their head coach at the Arizona organization, D’Antoni. Between 2012 and 2014, he played under D’Antoni at the Los Angeles Lakers as well.

Nash was the floor general and excelled playing for the American-Italian coach back in the day, from 2004 to 2008. A decade and change later, D’Antoni will be among his assistants in his first head coaching stint.

Complementing the Suns‘ reunion in Brooklyn, Udoka comes in following seven seasons at the San Antonio Spurs as a member of Gregg Popovich’s staff and his 2019-20 spell as an assistant coach of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Former interim head coach, Jacque Vaughn will serve as the top assistant coach, the report notes.
