Mike James explains his side about his clash with CSKA Moscow head coach Dimitris Itoudis

Mike James made his Brooklyn Nets debut on Friday, producing 8 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals in 21 minutes, in his first NBA game since 2018.

Following the win against the Celtics, James, who started the season with reigning EuroLeague champions CSKA Moscow, spoke to the media and explained the situation between both his Olimpia Milano coach Ettore Messina and the clash with CSKA head coach Dimitris Itoudis this season.

James was suspended twice in the regular season, first in January, and then again in March.

“Messina took the job in Milan, we talked on the phone all summer, and one day he just emailed me and said I should find another team”, said James. “And with Itoudis, some things happened in my personal life and I felt like stuff didn’t go how I thought somebody should handle my situations. We had a little clash there. Not really as a basketball player did I have a clash with Itoudis more as an individual. We are two men who had a clash outside the basketball court”.
