Two playoff games were on the program last night in the NBA and the Brooklyn Nets and the Phoenix Suns put on convincing displays for even more convincing wins over the Milwaukee Bucks and the Denver Nuggets respectively.
Brooklyn got a big 125-86 blowout win behind Kevin Durant’s 32 points and went up 2-0 in the series which will now shift to the Bucks‘ home court. Kyrie Irving added 22 points for the winning side while Joe Harris and Bruce Brown had 13 each with Mike James scoring ten points.
The Nets proved to be unstoppable despite Milwaukee’s visible defensive grind and the iso plays went the hosts way more than not. Additionally, they banked in 21 of 42 three-point attempts compared to the Bucks’ 8-27.
Milwaukee’s offense wasn’t working with Giannis Antetokounmpo logging 18 points, 11 rebounds and Khris Middleton scoring 17 points.
“I don’t get too high, I don’t get too low. After the Miami series, we were up 4-0, and coming to this series, I wasn’t high. Now that we’re down 2-0, I’m not low. I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing, keep trusting my work, keep trusting my teammates, keep believing in the team, keep believing in the habits we’ve built all year, and hopefully in Game 3 we get a win,” Giannis said.
Mikal Bridges was the top scorer of the game with 23 points while Devin Booker and Chris Paul followed with 21 and Deandre Ayton with 20 points. Paul dished out 11 assists as well while Ayton grabbed ten boards.
For Denver, Nikola Jokic scored 22 in addition to Aaron Gordon’s 18 and Michael Porter Jr’s 15 points. Facundo Campazzo scored 14.
