Former EuroLeague champion David Vanterpool joins Steve Nash’s staff in Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets have named David Vanterpool as an assistant coach on head coach Steve Nash’s staff. Vanterpool spent the last two seasons as the associate head coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves and the previous seven campaigns (2012-19) as an assistant coach for the Portland Trail Blazers.

48-year-old Vanterpool spent two years (2010-12) in the Oklahoma City Thunder front office as director of pro personnel and prior to pursuing his NBA coaching career, he served as an assistant coach in CSKA Moscow, winning the 2008 EuroLeague title and two Russian League championships.

During his playing career, he lifted the EuroLeague trophy with CSKA in 2006, while he was also named Italian League champion with Montepaschi Siena in 2004.
