Karl-Anthony Towns converted a three-point play to lead the Timberwolves past the Knicks

Karl-Anthony Towns converted a three-point play in the final 29 seconds of the game to lift the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 112-110 victory on the road against the New York Knicks for the team’s second straight.

Towns received a call after hitting the go-ahead basket and converted the free throw to save the day for the Timberwolves, while he left the court with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Anthony Edwards led all Minnesota scorers with 21 points.

On the other end, Evan Fournier’s game-high 27-point performance was not enough for the Knicks, which suffered their second consecutive defeat. Julius Randle followed with nearly triple-double figures (21 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists), Kemba Walker posted 19 points and RJ Barrett had 17.

Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry lifted the Golden State Warriors to a 102-86 win against the Detroit Pistons at home, to bounce back after their defeat to Timberwolves two days ago.

Thompson scored a new season-high with 21 points for the Warriors and Curry followed with 18 points and 8 assists. Golden State got ahead with a 66-38 lead at halftime and never looked back since, to cruise to a comfortable victory. Andrew Wiggins added 19 points for the hosts, while Nemanja Bjelica contributed 8 points and 7 rebounds in 18 minutes from the bench.

Rodney McGruder had 19 points to lead the Pistons, Hamidou Diallo added a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds and Isaiah Stewart also had 14 points and 11 rebounds.
