After finalizing a contract buyout with the Houston Rockets, three-time NBA champion Danny Green has agreed with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a 2 million dollar contract for the rest of the season, Shams Charania reported.

The Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, and San Antonio Suns reportedly also pursued Green, who was traded from Memphis Grizzlies to the Rockets on the trade deadline day.

He played in just three games with the Grizzlies after tearing knee ligaments with the Philadelphia 76ers during the playoffs last season.

Cavs decided to strengthen their bench and playoff ambition with the 35-year-old guard, who played 822 regular season games and 165 at the postseason.

Green was actually drafted by Cleveland back in 2009 as the 46th overall pick, and during his career played for several NBA teams, winning the championship with San Antonio, Toronto, and LA Lakers.

He played briefly in Europe for Union Olimpija during the 2011 NBA lockout and won the Slovenian Cup.
