Commenting on officiating affecting the Minnesota Timberwolves and himself in recent games, Rudy Gobert does not hold back

Frustrated after the Minnesota Timberwolves dropped a four-game winning streak, Rudy Gobert fell shy of being kind urging for more respect from referees.

“It’s bullsh*t. Bullsh*t. It’s not fair. It’s really not fair,” he complained after his side was forced down to 39-38 in the NBA Regular Season on Wednesday, “Every night. I’ve been in this league for ten years and I try to always give the benefit of the doubt, but it’s hard for me to think they’re not trying to help them win tonight. It’s hard for me to think they didn’t try to help the Warriors win the other night or Sacramento Kings the other night. It’s just so obvious. As a basketball player that’s been in this league for so long, it’s disrespectful. It sucks, to be honest.”

Gobert, 30, tallied seven points, 15 rebounds, two steals, and two assists over 35 minutes as the Wolves lost to the Phoenix Suns in Footprint Center. Displeased by the officiating in key moments of the game, he made his feelings clear.

“We understand that we’re not the biggest of the markets,” he added to his objections, “I think you want to see KD, Steph, and LeBron in the playoffs. We are not there yet. We got to keep putting our head down, keep playing through that and it’s frustrating for sure, especially for me.”

Missing the chance to wrap up the three-game road trip undefeated and a major boost in the race for a direct ticket to the Playoffs, the Wolves are now one game behind the sixth-seeded Golden State Warriors, while staying two games away from eliminating seeds of the Western Conference.
