Struggling to sleep the previous night and then follow pregame routines, Bogdan Bogdanovic played for the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.

“Like everyone else in Serbia, I think we could not believe the news was true,” he discussed the death of fellow Serbian Dejan Milojevic.

“That guy was a beast. And always positive,” added Bogdanovic, “He was never the guy who complained first. But if you complain to him, he would just laugh. ‘You only live once.’ He was always saying that.”

Furthermore, he talked about the playing days of the late coach. “He was a great player, but he never chased his career. He always wanted to live a family lifestyle with his kids in good cities. He never chased money,” mentioned the 31-year-old guard, “I feel that is a great example for everyone to live life like.”

Partizan connected the Belgrade natives, but their respective spells were separate. “He will always be a legend,” noted Bogdanovic on the status of Milojevic at the storied Belgrade outfit.

“I never had a chance to be coached by him, but I played against him so many times,” he also recalled, “I was so happy for him when he came to the NBA because he deserved it.”

Milojevic worked under Steve Kerr at the Golden State Warriors since 2021.

A buzzer-beater by Dejounte Murray secured the win over the Orlando Magic in State Farm Arena. Bogdanovic dropped 12 points behind 4/7 field goals over 24 minutes.
