During the meeting of the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Memphis Grizzlies at Target Center, French Rudy Gobert and Spanish Santi Aldama shared intense moments. The youngster wanted to disrupt the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

“We were speaking Spanish and stuff. I was working on my Spanish,” Gobert commented on the constant clashing with the 23-year-old big, rejecting any kind of grudge between the European stars, “He had a good time. I had a good time too. But he is a good kid. I respect him.”

Gobert, 31, posted a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double alongside six blocks and four assists on Wednesday. The leaders of the Western Conference improved to 30-11 in the 2023-24 Regular Season.

“You never know if you will get another opportunity to win a championship. It does not matter if you are a young team if you are a team with experience,” explained the French center, “You have to embrace the moment and make the most of every situation. I think that is what we are trying to do.”

“We should not waste any time. We can do something unique right now,” he added.

At the midway point of the 82-game regular-season schedule, the Wolves are building a bid for homecourt advantage in the Playoffs.

“We try to win as much as we can. The most important thing, more than that, is to be at our best when it matters,” noted Gobert referring to the later stages of the season.
