Two of the best European players in the world collided in Milwaukee’s win over the Mavericks

By Eurohoops team / info@eurohoops.net

Not long ago, Luka Doncic recorded the highest-scoring performance ever by a European player, coming out victorious from Atlanta with 73 points. Going up against him, therefore, must have been even more motivating for Giannis Antetokounmpo, who didn’t disappoint in Milwaukee’s 129-117 victory.

Leading the Bucks to the win in Dallas, the Greek superstar had a double-double of 48 points (20/28 FG) and 10 assists, with 6 rebounds and 5 steals as well. On the other side, Luka Doncic went close to a triple-double in his team’s defeat with 40 points, 9 rebounds, and 11 assists. He shot 12/26 from the field.

With this victory – his first one on this bench -, the newly appointed Milwaukee Bucks‘ head coach Doc Rivers will coach the Eastern Conference team in the All-Star Game considering that Boston’s Joe Mazzulla already coached last season and is ineligible. “He’s going to coach the game?”, Giannis Antetokounmpo reacted in the post-game press conference, surprised.

Not making it to the All-Star Weekend despite averaging crazy numbers, Domantas Sabonis continued to keep rolling, putting up a triple-double of 13 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists in Sacramento’s away victory over Chicago.

The Bulls had a solid night from Nikola Vucevic, who still lost the duel against the Lithuanian center. Ending the night with a double-double losing effort of 24 points and 12 rebounds, he wasn’t enough for his team against the Kings.

Finally, Victor Wembanyama couldn’t put San Antonio on the winning end at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers despite a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds. The French rookie, however, had problems from the field, shooting only 5/16.
