It was one of those nights when Nikola Jokic was unstoppable, reaching 14.000 career points. However, the Los Angeles Clippers managed to survive.
The Serbian center had a strong triple-double but missed the game-winning shot at the buzzer, and the Clippers prevailed at home 102-100.
Jokic finished the match with 36 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists on 14-24 shooting from the field, but the most important shot fell short. The LA team survived, with Ivica Zubac having a solid game with 14 points and 15 rebounds.
Two other European players clashed, with Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks defeating Bogdan Bogdanovic and the Atlanta Hawks 109-95.
The Slovenian star was just two assists shy of a triple-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds and led his team to victory. Bogdanovic was Atlanta’s top scorer with 17 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Hawks to avoid defeat.
Maxi Kleber had seven points and six rebounds for the winning team, while Clint Capela stopped at six, but with 13 boards on the other side. Vít Krejčí added four points for Quin Snyder’s team.
The New York Knicks defeated the Sacramento Kings 120-109, with Bojan Bogdanovic scoring 12 points and Isaiah Hartenstein almost reaching a triple-double with seven points, rebounds, and nine assists.
On the other side, Domantas Sabonis also flirted with a triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, while Sasha Veznekov added 11 points on 3-7 shooting from beyond the arc.
As for the other European players, Nikola Jovic had 11 points in the Miami Heat‘s 105-109 loss to Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers, while Boban Marjanovic scored four in the Houston Rockets‘ 110-133 loss to the Golden State Warriors.
