Following a narrow loss to the Sacramento Kings in Target Center on Monday, Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves were asked about the Dallas Mavericks deciding to trade Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.

“They say that nobody knew about the trade. Yeah, so that’s crazy,” mentioned the 23-year-old shooting guard, confirming numerous reports on the deal.

“It was hard to believe it at first. With all these fake accounts that post like stupid stuff every day, I was making really sure that it was the real one,” the 32-year-old French center described his reaction.

“It’s crazy,” continued Gobert, “It’s possible that there’s something that we don’t know. But it says a lot about the state of the game right now in a way where a young superstar is not untouchable.”

“They traded probably the best scorer in the NBA at 25. He didn’t know about it. So, it’s a lot more digging somebody got to do to find out why he got traded. Because you don’t just trade him at 25. He just went to the Finals,” added Edwards.

At 27-13, the Wolves are 1.5 games away from a direct ticket to the 2025 Playoffs and 1.5 games safe inside the Play-In zone of the Western Conference.

“I feel bad for Luka,” said the explosive winger, “I saw on YouTube, he just bought a crib and everything in Dallas. So, that sucks.”

“I’m scared,” Edwards mentioned jokingly and addressed team president Tim Connelly, “Tim, if you going to trade me, let me know dawg.”
