The new All-Star Game format will feature a mini-tournament between four teams. Besides those picked by Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Barkley, a fourth team guided by WNBA legend Candace Parker will complete the field with the winner of the Castrol Rising Stars.

Three games, two semifinals and the final, will be played with the winner decided when one of the sides reaches or surpasses 40 points.

Each player on the winning team will receive 125,000 dollars. The runner-ups will get 50,000 dollars apiece. A prize of 25,000 dollars corresponds to the members of the teams eliminated in the semifinals.

The tournament will be played on Sunday, February 16, in San Francisco’s Chase Center.

On Friday, a similar four-team battle featuring the best rookies and sophomores of the NBA alongside G League standouts will crown a champion advancing to the bottom end of the All-Star weekend as Team Candace.

The AT&T Slam Dunk, Starry 3-Point Contest, and Kia Skills Challenge headline the schedule on Saturday.
