After spending the first part of the season in the G League, the French point guard signed a 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets.
The former Detroit Pistons player started five straight games for Jordi Fernández’s team, but his deal expired, and according to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, the Nets won’t keep him on another 10-day contract.
Hayes played a total of six games for Brooklyn, averaging nine points, 5.2 assists, and three rebounds.
The 23-year-old guard was selected as the 7th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons, where he spent four seasons, playing 210 games and averaging 8.1 points, 5.2 assists, and 2.9 rebounds.
Before joining the Nets, he shined in the G League, averaging 21 points and 8.3 assists.
