While everybody was expecting the New York Knicks to tie the series at 1-1 at Madison Square Garden after losing Game 1 in thrilling fashion, the Indiana Pacers didn’t disappoint again.
Winning Game 2 114-109 and going up 2-0 on the road, the team coached by Rick Carlisle secured home-court advantage in possibly closing the series in Indianapolis.
Pascal Siakam was absolutely dominant for Indiana, putting up a NBA Playoffs career-high with 39 points, shooting 15/23. He also grabbed 5 rebounds and shared 3 assists.
He wasn’t the only protagonist in Indiana’s outstanding win, as five other players finished in double-digits. Tyrese Haliburton went close to a triple-double with 14 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds.
For New York, Jalen Brunson put up a 36-point losing effort while also sharing 11 assists. The Knicks had an 8-man rotation, and three more players finished in double-digits. The British forward OG Anunoby had 16 points in the loss, while Mikal Bridges had 20 points and 7 rebounds.
Two teams are currently leading 2-0 in their respective Conference Finals. Not only has Indiana not been losing against New York, but Oklahoma City is also conquering the series 2-0 over Minnesota.
