Deeper in the offseason, the future of Giannis Antetokounmpo remains unclear. The 30-year-old superstar has been considering his options, apparently seeking the best possible situation to win a second NBA championship.
Paul George, alongside Carmelo Anthony, discussed the rumors concerning the Freak on the latest installment of Podcast P.
“I think Giannis is that older era cut where he wants to stay in Milwaukee his whole career. I don’t see him wanting to leave,” said 35-year-old George, countering opposite outside projections.
“And you see that more so, with international guys, they kind of stay where they were drafted for the most part,” said 35-year-old George, extending from Giannis to other international superstars during their careers in the league based in North America, “They come from a different world. You come to America, you get treated like royalty, king, all of that. Like, this took care of my family. This is home. And I won here. So, it’s a legacy thing, I think, with Giannis in Milwaukee.”
“I don’t think he wants to leave there,” he added, focusing on the international superstar from Greece.
Since graduating from Fresno State and being selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2010 draft, George has played for the Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers, and Philadelphia 76ers.
In contrast, the native of Athens was drafted by the Bucks in 2013 and has been loyal to the franchise over the next 12 years, including a championship in 2021.
