Among several upstarts deciding to postpone NBA plans, Mouhamed Faye will withdraw from the 2025 NBA draft presented by State Farm, his agent told ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.

Faye, 20, initially became available for the draft in late April. He will instead consider other options, including a potential jump to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague or moving his talents to the NCAA, as confirmed in the latest status update. However, the promising rim protector remains eligible for the 2026 draft.

In the 2024-25 journey, the Senegalese center debuted in the Basketball Champions League with UnaHotels Reggio Emilia, tallying 6.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, 0.4 steals, and 0.3 steals per contest over 15 appearances. Playing 31 games in the LBA UnipolSai, he put up 10.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.6 steals, 1.5 blocks, and 0.4 assists per contest. Debuting with the senior team during the 2023-24 journey, he was named Best Young Player of Italy’s top-flight division.

Since joining Reggiana in 2022, the Dakar native suited up for Senegal in the FIBA U18 African Championship 2022 and for the Next Generation Team in the Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament, now called NextGen EuroLeague. His progress was met by a promotion to the senior squad of the team based in Northern Italy for the 2023-24 season.

The 2025 NBA draft will take place over two days, with the first round on June 25 and the second on June 26. Both rounds will be held in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
