A new NBA destination is likely for Guerschon Yabusele after becoming a fan favorite at the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Sixers are expected to face a complicated challenge in re-signing the 29-year-old big, according to a joint report by Jake Fischer & Marc Stein.

The international player with France scored a one-year contract with the 76ers, to launch a second spell in the NBA before the 2024-25 season. Therefore, he is set to soon become an unrestricted free agent. The experienced big wants to stay in the league, and the Sixers reportedly want to re-sign him, but he may end up elsewhere, with further logistics making it difficult for him to stay in Philadelphia.

Bouncing back in the NBA after becoming a Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion with Real Madrid in 2023, Yabusele tallied 11.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.3 blocks per contest over 70 appearances, including 43 starts in the 2024-25 Regular Season. In a largely uneventful stint, he previously played 90 games with the Boston Celtics, between the 2017-18 and 2018-19 journeys, after being selected with the 16th overall pick of the 2016 draft.

Beyond uncertainty about his NBA future, the Dreux native intends to suit up for France in the EuroBasket 2025. Barring a setback, he will add to a lengthy and successful international career by joining the team coached by Frederic Fauthoux in Group D of the preliminary round in Katowice and looking to clinch a berth in the knockout stage of the tournament in Riga.
