Augustas Marciulionis emerged among several undrafted rookies with an agreement to join an NBA team on an Exhibit 10 contract. The 23-year-old Lithuanian point guard will sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, as reported by ESPN’s Jonathan Givony following the 2025 NBA Draft presented by State Farm in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
The native of Vilnius is the son of Sarunas Marciulionis, who is widely ranked among the top spots of all-time lists with the best international players. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014 and the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2015.
Launching his basketball career, Augustas was a youth product of Rytas. Moving into the senior squad of his hometown club, he played in five Basketball Champions League games, in addition to also debuting in the top-tier division of Lithuania during the 2020-21 campaign. Over the next four years, he was a member of Saint Mary’s in the NCAA.
The young upstart has been capped across every junior national team of his country as well. Following participation in the FIBA U16 European Championship 2018, FIBA U18 European Championship 2019, and FIBA U19 World Cup 2021, he helped Lithuania capture a silver medal in the FIBA U20 European Championship 2022.
The next step will be competing for a spot in the 2025-26 roster of the Lakers. He sat out the pre-draft process due to a foot injury but is expected to be medically cleared in late July.
In other Exhibit 10 moves reported by various media outlets after the draft, the Philadelphia 76ers picked up Spanish prospect Izan Almansa and Igor Milicic Jr., son of Igor Milicic and an international player with Poland.
Also, Spanish Isaac Nogues is heading to the Sacramento Kings on an Exhibit 10 contract, following a brilliant season in the G League with the Rip City Remix.
