Luka Doncic is working out during the summer, and his updated physique heading to the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season and the preceding EuroBasket 2025 has been drawing the attention of basketball fans, especially across social media.
“Just visually, I would say my whole body looks better,” the 26-year-old combo guard of the Los Angeles Lakers mentioned in an interview with Men’s Health, published on Monday.
Since the end of the 2024-25 season, marked by a midseason trade from the Dallas Mavericks, Doncic has been working out with a dedicated team, focusing summer training on improving conditioning, looking to take his game to another level.
“Every summer I try my best to work on different things,” he said, “Obviously, I’m very competitive. This summer was just a little bit different, you know. It kind of motivated me to be even better.”
Since 2018, the Ljubljana native has been displaying his talents in the NBA, from the Mavs and now with the Lakers.
“Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect those first four or five years. Then I said, ‘I need to do this,’” he added.
“Be the best that I can be, take care of myself,” Doncic set his goal. “This year, with my team, I think we did a huge step. But this is just the start, you know. I need to keep going. Can’t stop.”
Before launching his eighth NBA campaign, Doncic will represent Slovenia in the EuroBasket, with the preliminary round in Katowice between August 28 and September 4, and a likely participation in the following knockout stage in Riga, from September 6 to 14.
