Luka Doncic talked about the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season, his first full campaign with the Los Angeles Lakers.

“I think we have been practicing great. Everybody is so excited. I am so excited. All the preseason is behind us, so we are excited to get started,” said the 26-year-old Slovenian combo guard after team practice on Monday.

“The goal is to win the championship,” he added, “Just try to go game by game, and try to win every game.”

Without LeBron James, the first challenge is against the Golden State Warriors in crypto.com Arena on Tuesday.

“Steph versus LeBron, everybody in the world would watch it. Obviously, going against Steph is very exciting. But it’s going to be tough. I don’t know if it’s a rivalry, but for sure it’s an exciting game,” mentioned Doncic.

The Ljubljana native started his Lakers career with 28.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game over 33 appearances between the bottom end of the 2024-25 Regular Season and the 2025 Playoffs presented by Google.

Before returning to the storied franchise, he suited up for the senior national team of Slovenia in EuroBasket 2025, averaging 34.7 points per contest over seven games en route to the All-Star Five of the tournament.

Back in 2018, following an exciting start to his professional career with Real Madrid, he was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks with the third overall pick of the annual draft and immediately traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
