Luka Dončić delivered another standout performance, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a win over the Utah Jazz, but the night will be remembered primarily for LeBron James’ season debut.
With James officially beginning his unprecedented 23rd season, the Slovenian star spoke about the significance of sharing the floor with one of the greatest players in basketball history.
“It’s the 23rd season, it’s insane. Just sharing the court with him is special, and he just does things that other people can’t. He’s here to help us all, so it’s amazing. It’s only his first game back, and he plays amazingly, so I’m excited to play some more,” Dončić said at the postgame press conference.
The Lakers sit at 11–4 in the Western Conference standings, enjoying a strong start to the season — and now LeBron is back in the lineup.
“Yesterday was the first practice when we had all the guys available. It was kind of amazing. Everybody’s happy, we’re joking around, but we’re in a good place. Everybody was in there, so we just got to work. We got to go game by game, we got used to that game. We can’t let go and just keep building this, this chemistry,” Dončić concluded.
