Almost four years after being drafted with the 11th overall pick, Ousmane Dieng is moving on from the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Chicago Bulls.
Heading into the league’s trade deadline on Thursday, the Thunder officially finalized a trade on Wednesday that sent Dieng and a future second-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets for Mason Plumlee. The 22-year-old French forward was then paired with Collin Sexton and three second-round picks in a trade to the Chicago Bulls for Coby White and Mike Conley, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. Drafted by the New York Knicks and immediately traded to the Thunder in 2022, Dieng made 149 appearances with the Thunder, including nine in the Thunder’s championship run in the 2025 NBA Playoffs presented by Google.
The Thunder also waived Plumlee to fit the roster addition of Jared McCain from the Philadelphia 76ers, with the Thunder parting with this summer’s first-round pick of the Houston Rockets and three second-round selections to complete this trade. In addition, the defending champions secured the draft rights of Serbian Balsa Koprivica from the Utah Jazz for cash considerations. The current Bahcesehir Koleji player and former Florida State standout was selected with the 57th overall pick in 2021 by the Hornets, with his NBA rights moved to the Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Clippers, besides the Jazz, and now the Thunder.
