The Memphis Grizzlies have waived D’Angelo Russell as they work to trim their roster, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The move leaves the veteran guard free to seek a new team before the start of the 2026–27 NBA season.
The Lakers selected Russell with the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. He has also played for the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks, and earned an All-Star selection with Brooklyn in 2019.
Russell arrived in Memphis this offseason but will leave without having played a regular-season game for the Grizzlies.
